The Latest News

Val had a port surgically implanted in her arm when she began chemotherapy last year. A tube runs directly from the port into her heart for delivery of chemotherapy drugs. Doctors at USC suspect that the port and tube may be causing her blood infection. She also has (2) stents in the liver bile ducts. There is some evidence of a problem there also.

Dr. Lenz has concluded that the stents should be changed. These were done at Cedars Sinai by Dr. Limon Lo.

As I write, we are waiting for a bed at Cedars. Val will then be transferred by ambulance from USC to Cedars. A 3o minute trip.

Please pray that a bed becomes available in the next few hours. pray that Dr. Lo will put Val in his schedule tomorrow. Pray for wisdom on when to remove the suspicious port.

If a bed is not available by tomorrow morning, we will probably pull the trigger and have the procedures done at USC. Dr. Lenz said that this is Val's call. She will make it in the morning.

Either way, Val will probably not be out of the hospital until Sunday or Monday.

Thank you for the updates, when there is no news we worry....when there is GOOD NEWS we rejoice! I am constantly amazed at how many lives you have touched and what a mighty army of prayer warriors you have in this fight against the mighty Goliath! The prayers will not stop until the foe is defeated and then we will thank God for His Glory and Mercy.

Whenever I pray or check the blog, I am reminded of Joshua 1:9 over and over again, "Have I not commanded you. Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." The Lord has given Val such strength and courage, I think that is exactly what Joshua means...be just like Val! We continue to pray for the miracle that will one day be.....

Please Lord continue to heal Val and take this cancer from her. Please continue to give her family strength to endure all you allow. Thank you Lord for hearing our prayers. Amen

We sing halleleujah, when all has become nothing, and our hope in the Savior, has covered all we do, let it be for You.
We sing halleleujah, and fall to the ground again, with hands stretched up to the sky, we're waiting for the day, we'll hear the Father say,
Well done, good and faithful servant, enter in, come and stay with me.

Val, the faith of you and your family will be rewarded with healing on earth and crowns in heaven. Don't ever give up.
