The trip to Cedars

Char and Michael picked up Val and Chris at 11:45 this morning for the flight to Santa Monica. They are staying at the L'Ermitage in Beverly Hills tonight. Nancy and Richard are leaving tomorrow at 5 am. We will all hook up at the Cedars Cancer Center tomorrow morning at 8 am to meet with Dr. Drazin, Dr. Klein, and Dr. Nissen.
After the meeting, Val will have her 4th chemo infusion. Avastin is being added this time. two weeks from tomorrow, Val will be scanned to assess the effect of Chemo after 8 weeks of treatment. Please ask Our God to come along side of us. Here are some specific prayer requests:
1. Pray that God will touch Valerie's body and heal her cancer. I know He will but I wish His timetable matched mine.
2. Pray for safety in travel by land and by air.
3. Pray that all (3) doctors show up for our meeting.
4. Pray for wisdom and discernment for each of us so we do not overwhelm the doctors.
5. Pray that the doctors are willing to go into the unknown with us and see beyond the statistics of cholangiocarcinoma. Pray that they will see themselves as leaders in this journey.
6. Pray that Val's insurance carrier, United Healthcare, covers the Avastin.
7. Pray for wisdom as we suggest the addition of Tarceva.
8. Pray that Val's bloodwork is a go for Chemo and that she will weather the effects of these strong drugs.
The 3rd verse of the hymn "God of the Ages" is a good description of the God we serve.

God of tomorrow, strong Overcomer,
Princes of darkness own Your command.
What then can harm us? We are Your people,
Now and forever kept by Your hand.

Godspeed Dear One,

Dad

Dearest Val,
The love I have for you cannot be put into words. It is all consuming. I am asking our Heavenly Father, "That out of His glorious riches that He strenghten you with power through His spirit in the inner being." Ephesians 3:16 Tomorrow will be a day of battle against this cancer. Remember this: "Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21
Love you Val,
Mom

Dear Val and Family...
We have been down on our knees praying morning, noon, and night for you! For every single request that your father asked...we have spent time in prayer...and for every single request, Val, He will provide an answer...believe.

In the stillness of Your presence, God, let Val feel Your healing life flowing through her now, bring peace to her mind and energy to her body.

Enfold Val in Your powerful healing love, God, let her experience health and wholeness in mind, body, and emotions.

Thank You, God, for Your healing life that surges throughout every cell of Val's entire being, strengthening her and restoring her to wholeness.

Let Valerie and her family relax in Your loving care, dear God, and release all of their cares to You, knowing that You are upholding every one of them and sustaining them in all that they do. Bless them...in Your name...Amen!

We will talk soon...take care for now...and if you or your family need anything at all...we are here!

Praying always...
Love, Kerry Randall

Val,

We hope that your time spent with your family is filled with the sound of children laughing and playing. The boys must be getting so excited for Santa to come. I hope the gingerbread house has held up ok. Ryan was so funny when I hadn't read the directions and he said that his Dad should have built it. I think he was right but we had so much fun with the walls caving in and the frosting everywhere but where it should have been!
We wish you a very Merry Christmas.

Ho,ho,ho

Val,
I am praying for you every day. I know what you and your family are feeling. My Mom was diagnosed with Ovarian cancer. We all prayed and God answered our prayers, and it has been 5 years and no sign of cancer. I know God will heal you. I pray for you, as does my family.
