A Tough Battle

Almost everything that could went terribly wrong today. Unbelievably I made a two hour error in the appointment time. Val was struggling with fasting after midnight and dehydration. They finally fit her into the schedule. Unfortunately Dr. Lo thought we weren't coming because of a mis-communication in an e-mail I sent him the night before.

They had difficulty getting the tube to the liver. When Val woke up she was in Level 10 pain, the highest on the scale. An x-ray was done to determine the cause. Dr. Lo told her she couldn't go home today so she was admitted. An ultrasound and ascites fluid sample will be done tomorrow.

Nancy can't go without her daily meds so Julie, who was en route from San Luis Obispo did a U-turn at San Clemente to go back to Beverly Hills and pick up Nancy. I had to go to San Marcos to take care of the kids.

Julie is spending the night with Val in the hospital. Nancy and Chris are en route back to San Marcos.

We will have to wait and see what tomorrow brings.

Oh, Lord you are Val's sheperd, she shall not want.. You make her lie down in green pastures, you lead her beside still waters, only You will restore her soul... You guide her on paths of rigtheousness for Your name's sake.

Even though she walks through the valley of the shadow of death, she will fear no evil, FOR YOU ARE WITH HER! Your rod and your staff they comfort her.

You prepare a table for Valerie in the presence of her enemies. You anoint her head with oil; her cup runs over. Surely goodness and love will follow Valerie all the days of her life, and she will dwell in the house of the Lord forever...

Oh Lord, I thank you that you are with Valerie right now, please Father reach your hand out and touch her, give her peace, rest, healing... Give her the strength she needs to climb this mountain. Lift her up on your wings, hide her in your presence, help her to soar above this, so that your name would be glorified. Wrap your loving arms around her, and manifest your presence in her room at this very moment. In Jesus name.

I love you Val! My prayers will never cease!

In Him,
Osil

Osil said it so beautifully. May God wrap his arms around you and manifest his presence in your room. I pray that your hospital stay is short and you are able to get home soon to Chris and your boys.

I am so glad that Julie was able to be by your side and spend the night in your room with you. I know that she will bring you comfort.

I am praying for you,

I Love you Val,

Marianne

Since my husband was dx with this disease in July of this year, I have found this website invaluable. It has helped us in knowing what tx options are available as well as what seems to work and what doesn't. He is 51 and doing very well presently. We live close to Peoria, IL and went to Mayo Clinic in Rochester initially. They told us surgery was not an option. Since then he has been on Gemzar and seen shrinkage of the tumor. We hope to go back in Feb or Mar and revisit them to see what they say about surgery again. As I said, the medical information has been invaluable but the eloquence in which your family expresses their deep faith and love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has truly inspired me and touched my heart. Your beautiful words have brought me to tears many times. We are both born again and know that our time here on earth is but a moment compared to our eternal life. Please remember my husband, Dirk in your prayers. I will continue to pray for Val and her family. May God Bless and keep you. May his face shine upon you. To him be the Glory Forever- Amen.

I lift my eyes up to the mountains
Where does my help come from
My help comes from You
Maker of heaven, Creator of the earth
O how I need You Lord
You are my only Hope
You are my only Friend
So I will wait for You
to come and rescue me
Come and give me life.

As I was praying for you this afternoon. I was thinking of this song. Lord Jesus You are our only Hope, come and rescue Val, please give her life. We love you Lord.
We love you and miss you guys, We may be out of sight but we have never stopped praying for you.
Love, The Ball family in Minnesota
