Who Is This Cutie?
You guessed it. Val started her phone conversations at an early age and has never stopped.
It has been a busy day. Val has made some small gains. Nancy tells me that she is less jaundiced today. Also, with the help of her mom, a great nurse, and Dr. Dean Tasher, I think we are making progress on what is probably the most critical issue, clearing the bowels for next week's procedures.
Dr. Lo decided that he had to deal with the ascites before he could perform the stent procedure. Tuesday, at 9 am, We are scheduled for paracentisis to tap and drain the ascites from her abdomen. This will give Dr. Lo more room to work. Her stent change will be performed at 2 pm on Tuesday.
Julie is arriving from San Luis Obispo tomorrow at noon. Jeff, Jan, and the kids are flying in from Prattville, Alabama tomorrow. We are scheuled to camp at Del Mar Beach on Camp Pendleton next week.
I received the Radiologist's report from the CT Scan done on 3/21. Thorax and chest are stable with no growth. The large tumor in the right lobe of her liver is increased slightly. Our goal is to get Val healthy enough to attack and kill this tumor through interventional radiology.
Good news: Val's CA19-9 Tumor marker dropped from 1,200 to 8oo and her potassium is back to normal.
God faithfully continues to lead us and opens doors that we faithfully go through. I am so grateful for His presence on this journey.
The beat goes on.

There are no words to describe how much we all love and pray for peace, recovery and happiness in all of your lives. Continue to be faithful, he does hear your words and he knows what needs to be done. Life's journey can sometimes be dark but his light will always bring comfort.
Val,
It was so nice to speak to you yesterday. I am so grateful that Deanna has been there the last 2 days to visit with you and be such a good friend to you. She cares about you so very much and wants you to get better. It was so cute that you wanted to see little Hunter and I hope that Deanna can bring him by to say hello. Danielle called in sick to the hospital last night to help make you dinner and get you moving around. You have so many good friends that will be there in the drop of a hat to comfort you and help with all of the little things. Osil and Kerry are so awesome and they want to help out. I am so delighted to know that they are all there to shhow you there love and support.
You have such a wonderful mother, father and husband who are walking beside you during this battle everyday. Their love and devotion to you are amazing.
You are so very loved Val.
I pray for successful procedures for you on Tuesday.
Have a wonderful time with your entire family. How fun for you to have them all there at the same time!

I'm a friend of Julie's from San Luis. I have never stopped praying for your family, for your strength, for healing, for God to be praised, for God's will to be done. It is such an encouragement to me to see God's strength in your lives. God bless you and keep you. May His face shine on you, and give you peace. We will pray.
Lord Jesus Christ, You chose to share our human nature, to redeem all people, and to heal the sick. With this in mind I beg You to look with compassion on Your humble servant Val, support them with Your power, comfort them with Your protection, and give them the strength needed to fight against evil. Since You have given Val a share in Your own passion, help them to find hope in suffering for You, Jesus.

I know times are difficult for you right now...and for your family...but I also know that Jesus is so very close to each of you...He is right by your side...I pray that all of you, Nancy, Julie, Richard, Chris, your brothers...all just cuddle up close to Him now...for He is the light...the protector...the comforter...the healer!
I pray tonight for rest for you Val...for all of you. Lord, I come to you in faithful prayer and lay this family at the foot of the Cross...Lord, protect them and bring nothing but your peace to them!
