Wednesday Evening Update: 5:25 PM PST

The Stent replacement procedure done yesterday was not successful. According to the doctors, the Sepsis (a severe blood infection) was causing her liver and kidney failure and generating fluid in her lungs. With much prayer and deliberation, and in meeting with Val's wishes, it was determined by everyone that Val should return home. The risk of her having surgery yesterday met with a high degree of uncertainty, but as always, we pressed ahead to take our chances. The high risk of Val undertaking another surgery so soon could cause to be fatal and not an option at this time. Val is determined to get home to her family. The McCrea family and doctors were in full agreement to release her so that she could return home to her 3 boys. Hospice has been called and Val will soon be comforted in her own home.

Please keep the Prayers coming.

- Please Pray that Val's condition will stabilize
- Pray that Chris, Richard, Nancy and the immediate family will be Strong through this very difficult time

Know that prayers are with each one of you.
Val, may you know the Peace of God that passes all understanding at this time, as you embrace your family, your husband, and each of your boys.
Chris, My prayers for you are that the Love of God will envelop you and strengthen you as you father your boys. You have seen God's hand at work within your own family and your dear Val. Know that Jesus is very much there with you in these moments.
Nancy and Richard, I pray that you will find comfort in our Lord and in holding these young boys close to your heart as you tenderly sit with Val.
To the broad family, I praise God once again as I read your blogs, allowing us to peek into your private window of life. May He be your strength and your guide in the days to come.
Dawn, How I thank God for you, there for the boys regardless of what is happening with Chris and Val. Your faithful care touches each little one. May you know the love of Jesus in the moments of greatest need.

Val, Chris, Ryan, Gavin and Tyler, I will never stop hoping for a miracle...praying for a miracle. I will not ever give up on such a strong soul as Vals. I have only known her for such a short time as a neighbor - she is an inspiration for strength. When we first moved to this neighborhood the memory of my husband Dave saying "she could so easily kick my butt" has resonated in my head. How could anybody so strong get such a terrible disease? I can not put forward the religious input so many have eloquently written about Val and their strong belief. I am in awe at the level of belief and am inspired, however, what I can say in ernest and with a breaking heart is that my love and prayers are with Val's entire family. My family prays for Val. My family prays for Chris, his 3 beautiful boys, Val's Mother, Father, Sister and two Brothers. My heart remains full of hope and love for all of you. My family cares so much. God bless all of you. We think of you constantly. Please tell Val that we love her. Edie, Dave, Zack and Elora Diane

Dear Val- every day many a prayer is said to our merciful and just Lord to lift you up and give your body and mind the stregnth to continue fighting. This day the prayer was for you to have peace in knowing that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is holding you up on this path that your earthly body is taking, whatever that may be. The prayer requests are so wonderful, they really are a great guide for all of the prayer warriors out there supporting you. May you sleep well tonight in your home with your beautiful family. You and Chris and your beautiful boys are in my thoughts and prayers always. I pray tonight that your amazing parents and siblings will find that calm peaceful place within and feel God lifting them up and giving them stregnth.I pray for the infections to be healed and the pain to be at a minimum. And someday soon Val I pray that we could sit together in prayer to thank our loving God for your beautiful life. You keep fighting girl- miracles are everywhere. You inspired me 20 years ago with your vitality and you inspire me today with your faith.
All my love to you and your family.

Tonight I cry - tears flood me and make me ask questions of God that I wonder will ever be answered. I looked up "Valerie" and found that her name means strength. I have seen your strength in your ability to always accomplish your goals - whether it be running, work related, or tied to your own personal life. You are always the strong one - the one we all see as the giver of strength. I can only imagine what you are going through right now to endure the unspeakable pain of this surgery. We cry out to Jesus our Lord and savior to hold you now as you rest and heal - to once again build-up your strength to be the Valerie we know and love.

We continue to offer up our prayers for the McCrea and Sloan families. Your strength is a testimony of God's work in your lives. Our Lord is capable of anything including the miracle Val needs. Please pour out your supernatural healing on Val so that she may continue to be a witness to all of YOUR mighty power and strength in her life. Oh Lord hear our cry.

Over the course of the last year and a half, Val's has become one of the few blogs I read regularly.

Thank you so much for sharing with us. We can all relate not only to the fantastic highs and the unfair/unexpected lows, but to your everyday life experiences.

Please know that you and your incredible family are in our hearts and minds tonight.

Psalm 73:23-26
"Yet I am always with you;
you hold me by my right hand.
You guide me with your counsel,
and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

Val, you are an example of courage, and a woman of strong faith. You are loved by so many. The Lord will lift you up, and cradle you in His loving arms. My continued prayer is for your healing, Val. I love you!
