Richard and Nancy,
We were saddened beyond words to learn of the loss of Val. I remember her only as a kid cousin of the boys and a precious, beautiful young lady.
Our deepest sympathy goes out to all of you who have endured so much.

Hi Chris & Family,
We are so deeply saddened to learn of Val's passing. Dan let us know this morning, and we are thinking and praying for you all and send our love.
It is so hard to believe and I am so thankful that we had that fun time time together in Cabo last year.
With great sympathy,

We continue to lift your families up in prayer. Especially thinking of the boys and hoping they feel their mom looking over them always. Praying God's protection and emotional strength at this time. Lord continue to make your presence felt in these families lives. Let them continue to stand tall as witnesses to your mighty power.
Blessed are the pure of heart: for they shall see God. Matthew 5:8

Sweet day, so cool, so calm, so bright,
The bridal of the earth and sky:
The dew shall weep thy fall tonight;
For thou must die.

Sweet rose, whose hue, angry and brave,
Bids the rash gazer wipe his eye:
Thy root is ever in its grave,
And thou must die.

Sweet spring, full of sweet days and roses,
A box where sweets compacted lie;
My music shows ye have your closes,
And all must die.

Only a sweet and virtuous soul,
Like seasoned timber, never gives;
But though the whole world turns to coal,
Then chiefly lives.

"Virtue" by Geo. Herbert, 1633

Hi Chris,

I am so sorry I cannot fly out to see you and say goodbye to Valerie. I miss her dearly and I know this time is hard for you. Please know, you and the boys are in our prayers. I am looking forward to attending the online memorial, so I'll look for the link to be posted.

In lieu of flowers we are going to make a donation on Val's behalf to the listed organizations. I wouldn't wish this horrible cancer on my worst enemy. I hope they can someday find a cure to help others. This has just been so devastating.

We do hope to be out soon and will get in touch when we do. Please don't hesitate to call or email me for anything! I have some darling pictures of Val, Ryan, Marianne, boating and some fun times we've all had over the years together. I always had my camera with me back then. What a dork I was! I'm glad I did! I'd love to get them to you.

Please know we are thinking of you!

Most Sincerely,

Cher

Dear Chris,

I am so very sorry for your and the boys' loss. I saw Val maybe 2 months ago in the park on Via Vera Cruz with the boys. It was so nice to see her, we had a small chat and she was so loving with the boys that it is clear she will always be with you and them.

I know this is the hardest time of your life, and I cry here as I read the blog. May you and your family be strong and may the boys always be reminded of how great their Mom was.

Your friends in God,
Vaska and Lazar Tone
