Sacred Prayers

Last night at 8 pm, we gathered around Valerie for a sacred prayer. Her blood pressure was 100 over zero. Our dear Ryan prayed twice during this blessed time. Diane Burke, our African American sister in Christ and Hospice Nurse joined us. At the time of this post, our dear one continues to breath on. It is a high privilege to hear her and hold her hand. I will sneak up for a few hours of sleep and leave her in Dianne's loving care.

Godspeed

Valerie is in perfect peace. God has kept his promises. She will not shed another tear. We must find joy in that.

I love you all.

Fill not your hearts with pain and sorrow, but remember me in every tomorrow. Remember the joy, the laughter, the smiles, I've only gone to rest a little while. Although my leaving causes pain and grief, my going has eased my hurt and given me relief. So dry your eyes and remember me, not as I am now, but as I used to be. Because I will remember you all and look on with a smile. Understand in your hearts, I can live my life in the hearts of all of you.

Dear McCrea and Sloan Family,

Our deepest prayers are with you today.

While we prayed for Val tonight, our 3 year old explained very gently, "Mommy, we don't have to worry about Val".

Peace be with you.

I woke up early this morning to go to the grocery store. I live on a hill across a little valley from "Val's hill". It was dark and stormy as I looked west. When I got home, I looked over my left shoulder as I have done many times before, over toward Val's and said a little prayer for her. Directly above where her house sits was an opening in the sky; some blue was peeking out amidst some white puffy clouds and the sun's rays were shining through the darkness! I got my husband from inside and we took some pictures of that glorious sky! It was 7:00AM. To me, it was as if the Lord opened up a spot in the sky for Val to come home- not to her earthly home on Via Vera Cruz, but to the home from whence she came- Heaven!!
I consider it a high honor and privilege to call Valerie my friend. I am praying that our Omnipresent, Omniscient, and Merciful God will bring your precious family peace.
With love, Chris
