A Special Request In Our Time Of Need

We understand that everyone would like to see Val in this trying time, but we ask that you please call first and try to keep visits to a minimum.

We especially appreciate all the prayers from well wishers these past several months and all the love and friendship that you have all shown. Words cannot express our deepest gratitude. Your love for Val has truly given us strength.

Chris is in need of his alone time with Val, and so does Ryan, Gavin and baby Tyler. Val's Mom and Dad need their time too. The boys and Chris will start counseling sessions tomorrow to help them hold the family together as we can only imagine that times will become even harder with each passing day. We hope that you understand in our time of need.

Also, it would be great to share with Val when she hears about the posts on the blog, the location of where your prayers are coming from across the country. (ie) Val Perschetti (Atlanta, GA)

Seek some silence. Balance your busyness with moments of meditation. Don't allow all the flashng lights on the outside distract you from the inner light of his presence. Even a short silence each day will give a greater semblance of order to your emotions and schedule.

Chris, it was good to talk to you yesterday. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and Val so many times each day. The time we spent with y'all before we left San Diego was one of the most blessed time in our lives. We pray and hope for a miracle so that we may fellowship with you again. We love you! Val - praying for you and your family daily from Wisconsin - you are an inspiration, and your family is an amazing testament to faith. I have followed your blog for almost a year as I have a family member with this disease and you have truly helped us get through some tough times. You are a phenomenal woman!

Dear Val, Chris, Nancy, Richard, Julie, Paul, Jeff and the entire Sloan & McCrea families,
My heart is breaking for you. I pray every day that the Lord will give you the strength to persevere during this most difficult time. Val, I remember when we were little we (the Tasher & Sloan kids), would play, riding our bikes or barreling down the Tasher driveway in the red wagon. Sometimes we would make it & other times we would wipe out! I also remember all of us running rampant through each other's houses, staying for lunch or dinner without having to ask if it was okay. Nancy & Richard always made me feel (& still do), like part of the family.
The Sloan household has always been a place of warmth, welcoming to all and utter & complete faith in the Lord. It is this strength and belief in the Lord Jesus that is carrying all of you through this incredibly difficult journey.
Val, you are so incredibly caring, strong & determined. Your will has always been and will continue to be a force to be reckoned with. Your children are so beautiful and kind and there is so much of you in them, especially Tyler.
Julie, my heart aches for what you are experiencing. If there is anything you need do not hesitate to ask. You know where to find me.
I wish there was something I could do to lessen your pain & grief but only the Lord has that power.
I will continue to have all of you in my prayers.
All my Love,
Joanne

To Val and Her Family, Said a prayer for you in church yesterday as they said: "pray for those that may need healing." I have been following your blog since the day you started, and you are always in my thoughts. The first thing I say to my husband when I wake up: "Have to check on Val."

I pray that you have the strength to get through the days together.

Dear McCrea family,

I am praying for you all. I have no doubt that Kelly is launching the biggest argument for keeping Val with you, pain free, that He has ever heard.

Peace be with you all.

Hugs,
