Val Is Regaining Her Strength

It is good to know that Val has been taken off of the crisis team from hospice this morning and she is regaining her strength. She has been taking antibiotics to fight her infection and there are "no" signs of fluid on her lungs. This is a good sign. In the words of the hospice nurse last night, she said that Val is not ready to go anywhere just yet! Those were the words that we wanted to hear. She was able to take a shower yesterday and today. Her color is better too today.

Val, as restless as she is, with a little help has gotten out of bed and walked down the hall. She is now standing in her kitchen by herself and drinking water. There is a computer at the desk in the corner of the kitchen and we just read to her many of the comments from the well wishers from around the country and she has a Big smile on her face. Her speech is better and she is more alert now than she was when she arrived from the hospital the other day. Being at home has really improved her health. We are hoping that her critical condition has changed for the better, but we are still not out of the woods just yet, but....there is still that glimmer of hope. Your prays must be working.

Thanks for all the support, food, flowers, posts, etc....Please keep praying and so will we.

Val and Chris have created some of the best friendships over the years and it is really showing in this time in need.

MANY THANKS!!!

The McCrea and Sloan family

Valerie, remember when Pete and Matthew would always seem to find thier way up to your house for dinner.....when I was training fulltime at the hospital .......You always fed them well, they loved everything you cooked. I would always laugh when I called from work because I knew they were at your house. You guys are awesome. We miss you and are thinking about you constantly. Happiness to you all!

Val,
We are praying for you in Eden Prairie, MN. We are so excited about what the Lord is doing. We all miss you guys so much. The kids miss riding bikes with Ryan and Gavin in the street and seeing Tyler what a cutie!
I was thinking about what your dad was saying yesturday. Your faith and that of your family is such an encouragement to me. You are shining like stars in the universe! Anyway, I was reading my Daniel bible study last night and I thought these words of Beth Moore were so appropriate:

Beloved, if you and I could see the whole picture surrounding our own historical events, we'd go face to the ground in startling amazement. Imagine Christ saying to you one day in glory, "Take a look at this scene with me, Child. I want you to see what was going on in the heavens when you were going through that crisis. Look at all that happened in your behalf. Gaze at that great cloud of witnesses cheering you on to victory. Now aren't you glad you chose to walk by faith and believe Me?'

We love you Val. And we haven't stopped believing either.
Love, Michelle, Rob, Ethan, Emma, Nate and Joshua Ball

I am thinking of you Val and sending love from Tokyo while on a trip to visit my brother, his wife and my 2 year old nephew Andy. He is so adorable it is hard to be so far away from him. He learns so much so quickly -- I can imagine Tyler is a quick study with 2 older brothers to follow.

I am praying for you Val, you are so strong. I love the stories about you in the blog. I remember many, many wonderful times we had in college and after. Where did the time go, it seems only yesterday we were graduating from high school and waitressing. You have come a long way with a fabulous husband, three beautiful children and a wonderful family. I am so proud of you. There are many memories we have to cherish, I miss you! I hope to see you soon.

Please know I am always thinking of you.

With love,

Dear Val and family,
This is awesome news! We will all continue to pray.

Psalm 20
May the LORD answer you when you are in distress;
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you.
May he send you help from the sanctuary
and grant you support from Zion.
May he remember all your sacrifices
and accept your burnt offerings.

May he give you the desire of your heart
and make all your plans succeed.
We will shout for joy when you are victorious
and will lift up our banners in the name of our God.
May the LORD grant all your requests.
Now I know that the LORD saves his anointed;
he answers him from his holy heaven
with the saving power of his right hand.
Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.
O LORD, save the Val!
Answer us when we call!
With love and continue prayers,
Ginny
